Recently, I had done some reading about lighting setup and hopefully to brush up the skill of setting the lights and of course, try to make it different. This is never easy and often, we need to think out of the box in order to gain better attraction. But still, fundamental or basic still important. Without the basic, how can we think out of the box???
The first book that I would like to suggest is the light science and magic. It is all about how to setup the light, avoid light reflection and others. It has some practical theories and some simple setup. A lot of pictures to describe, basically, by looking at pictures you can roughly know what the entire page talking about. A good book to started off. I have the kiamsiap version. Here the cover of the book in case you are looking for one, it was written bu Fil Hunter, Steven Biver and Paul Fuqua.
Another book that I would like to suggest is The Hot Shoe Diaries from Joe Mcnally. This is a real good book written for strobist, and those who has the the flash light with him all days. The topic started with some basic, and finally some basic speed light setup to complicated speedlights setup. It has basic 1 light and multiple lights, and a lot of photos that talks to you. A real good book for strobist and as the bible how to fully utilize your small little 60w flash/es. As how the tittle stated, create big light source with your little flash. For Nikon user, the last topic is extra. It is basically a better understanding user manual for Sb800 and 900. FYI, I also have the kiamsiap copy. If you looking for one, here how the cover looks like:
Still reading these two books. A lot more to read and to learn.

First, thought of playing with some colors backlighting but it was too ambitious in my tiny small room. Change the plan and me them all white instead.
Setup:
1 X Nissin Di622 for head light, behind left.
1X Nisson Di622 for Side light from the model’s left.
1 X Sb800 Shoot thru umbrella @ the top front with reflector below the model.
